Claire Hayes, BSc

Postgraduate Researcher

I am currently pursuing a Master's in Health Psychology at the University of Derby, where I am working on a dissertation focused on the psychological impact of diagnostic delays in women with colorectal cancer. My research explores how both perceived and objective delays affect mental health outcomes, with a particular emphasis on surplus suffering and quality of life during the diagnostic process. I have a strong interest in patient-centred research and am committed to advancing the understanding of the psychological challenges faced by cancer patients. Outside of academia, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and our dogs, which helps me maintain balance and well-being.
